    Coldplay and Beyoncé drew Oxegen 2011 to an unforgettable and powerful close on the Main Stage last night.

    Beyoncé was, quite literally, crowned the queen of Oxegen last night after delivering a show stopping performance. Arriving on stage resplendent in a sequined costume, Ms Knowles was accompanied by an y all-female backing band and a shock-squad of pneumatic dancers.

    The Plea

    At the heart of The Plea are brothers Denny and Dermot Doherty. Denny sings like a cross between a young Bono and A Northern Soul-era Richard Ashcroft. Dermot plays lead guitar as though born on a stadium stage.

    Their signing with dance label R&S Records prompted the launch of an indie subsidiary for the label – Planet Function. Album ‘Dreamers Stadium’ was recorded with their dream producer Chris Potter (The Verve’s Urban Hymns, The Rolling Stones , U2). Designer Storn Thorgerson, who has done work Pink Floyd, 10cc, Led Zeppelin and, most recently, Muse and Biffy Clyro, for designed the cover work for the album. Read more…

    Tame Impala

    Tame Impala’s debut album ‘Innerspeaker’, a woozy world of synesthesia soul, was released in mid-2010 and met with a very warm welcome the world over and led the band on several sold out trans global jaunts.

    Due to a serious injury, having broken her foot in two places Jessie J has had to undergo emergency surgery. As a result of this, under strict orders from her doctor she will not be able to perform for a number of weeks so she can heal and recuperate properly.     The Rubberbandits are putting together a very special Sunday Service for Oxegen, and have already enlisted the help of a choir, folk mass balladeers, 2 horses, a Honda Civic and a small donkey. Featuring classic Sunday morning moves like the blessing of the yokes, the breaking of the madiera bread, and lots of drinking of the wine it’s the perfect Sunday morning cure for the head and the Bandits communal absolution will cleanse the soul.
