Coldplay and Beyoncé drew Oxegen 2011 to an unforgettable and powerful close on the Main Stage last night.
Beyoncé was, quite literally, crowned the queen of Oxegen last night after delivering a show stopping performance. Arriving on stage resplendent in a sequined costume, Ms Knowles was accompanied by an y all-female backing band and a shock-squad of pneumatic dancers.

The Plea
At the heart of The Plea are brothers Denny and Dermot Doherty. Denny sings like a cross between a young Bono and A Northern Soul-era Richard Ashcroft. Dermot plays lead guitar as though born on a stadium stage.
Their signing with dance label R&S Records prompted the launch of an indie subsidiary for the label – Planet Function. Album ‘Dreamers Stadium’ was recorded with their dream producer Chris Potter (The Verve’s Urban Hymns, The Rolling Stones , U2). Designer Storn Thorgerson, who has done work Pink Floyd, 10cc, Led Zeppelin and, most recently, Muse and Biffy Clyro, for designed the cover work for the album. Read more…

The Kapitals
The Kapitals, (formerly The Capitals), a three-piece band from the north side of Dublin, return to Oxegen 2011 after a fantastic year.
With support from a hugely loyal following and the band released their debut EP ‘Take Everything’ which was very well received, while their second single ‘Still Broke Enough’, with its hooky guitar riffs, gritty vocals, driving beat and wealth of teen spirit may well become a teenage anthem to rival ‘Teenage Kicks’ by The Undertones. Since the late 1980’s Greg Dulli has been a musical force to be reckoned with. Rising to fame as the magnetic leader of the Afghan Whigs during the 80’s & 90’s. Peter Hook and The Light

Little Green Cars
Little Green Cars have just recorded their debut single ‘The John Wayne’. Influences range from Tom Waits to Paul Simon and beyond… The band will debut at Oxegen in the Green Spheres Tent on July 9th. 2012 looks to be a promising year for the band.
The Blackout
Since their formation in 2003, Welsh natives The Blackout, have toured with Lostprophets, Kids in Glass Houses and The Guns.

Tame Impala
Tame Impala’s debut album ‘Innerspeaker’, a woozy world of synesthesia soul, was released in mid-2010 and met with a very warm welcome the world over and led the band on several sold out trans global jaunts.
Their whirlwind year culminated in places in the upper echelon of many a 2010 “best of” list, earned Tame Impala The J Award for best Australian Album Of The Year at home, and saw them triumphantly take Coachella this April.
Tame Impala make their Oxegen debut this July on the Friday at 2fm Hot Press Academy.
The Kanyu Tree
The Kanyu Tree released ‘Radio’ their debut single in April of this year. It is the first track to be taken from their debut album which will be released later this year.
The band have already garnered some attention nationally and have been featured on several ‘Ones to Watch’ lists.
The Kanyu Tree take their show on the road to Oxegen this July where they play Vodafone stage on the Sunday.

Jessie J to cancel forthcoming festival shows
Due to a serious injury, having broken her foot in two places Jessie J has had to undergo emergency surgery. As a result of this, under strict orders from her doctor she will not be able to perform for a number of weeks so she can heal and recuperate properly. She is extremely upset and has sent a message to all her fans.

Sunday Morning Coming Up – Rubberbandits to lead Special Sunday Service at Oxegen
The Rubberbandits are putting together a very special Sunday Service for Oxegen, and have already enlisted the help of a choir, folk mass balladeers, 2 horses, a Honda Civic and a small donkey. Featuring classic Sunday morning moves like the blessing of the yokes, the breaking of the madiera bread, and lots of drinking of the wine it’s the perfect Sunday morning cure for the head and the Bandits communal absolution will cleanse the soul. A convoy of dodgy cars with horseboxes left Limerick this morning and will slowly make it’s way across the country picking up broken jaws and piebalds as it shnakes it’s way to the main stage in Punchestown.
